The 法国 Program

The 法国 section at Skidmore offers a number of opportunities for students inside and outside of the classroom. The curriculum 在法国 includes a broad selection of courses in the language, cultures, and literatures of the 法国-speaking world. Our elementary and intermediate courses steadily build your language skills and confidence while introducing the variety of francophone cultures, while our upper-level electives develop proficiency through advanced language study and themed courses, taught in 法国, on francophone cultures, litteratures, or current events. Take your 法国 beyond the classroom by stopping by the bi-weekly Pause-cafe conversation and coffee hour, flipping crêpes at the bi-annual Soirée crêpes in the Dining Hall Test Kitchen, or joining your camarades de classe for 法国 Club events throughout the semester.

You may also use your 法国 to connect to other academic disciplines through the Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) courses. The LAC courses allow students to read and discuss discipline-specific materials 在法国.

Excellence in the study of 法国 can lead to a nomination to the Nu Iota chapter of 的, the National 法国 Honor Society.
